Visiting the Cotswolds in Autumn/Winter 2021?

After almost two years of restrictions, it's nice to finally be able to make plans with family and friends. Our guest house has had a very busy summer and we're looking forward to greeting even more guests over the next few months. If you're considering a trip to the Cotswolds, we have a few ideas below that could tempt you further!

What's on in the Cotswolds:

A tour and tasting at The Cotswold Distillery - Stourton

"The tour begins with a short video which highlights our Cotswolds Distillery story and traditional production methods. Shortly after, we’ll take you around the distillery’s production areas and warehouses whilst giving you a detailed account of how we craft our award-winning spirits, where you’ll be able to see (and smell!) the processes in action. At the end of the tour, you'll get to sample our range of spirits and liqueurs. "

What more could you want?

1st-5th September- Salon Prive

Attracting some of the rarest and most exquisite cars ever produced, this is THE event for any car lovers holidaying in the Cotswolds! Giving attendees the opportunity to test drive the cars, this is a great experience for enthusiasts, especially in the stunning grounds of Blenheim Palace.

With fine dining, champagne and a luxury retail village, there's lots to do to keep you entertained!

4th September- Joy Lisney Cello and Wine Evening

Held at Freedom of the Press Winery-

"An early evening apéro concert of two wonderful works for cello, performed by Joy Lisney. As a soloist Joy has worked with conductors including Howard Williams and Sir Stephen Cleobury as well as directing concerti from the cello. Alongside her solo engagements Joy performs regularly in a chamber music setting and has worked with artists including the Allegri, Dante and Endellion Quartets, Michael Whight, James Gilchrist and Dame Emma Kirkby."

16th-19th September- Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials

"A world class international equestrian event and a great family day out! There is much to do on all days in addition to the showcase eventing classes, such as complimentary displays and demonstrations.

There’s great shopping, thrilling arena attractions, an array of delicious food and drink, lots of children’s entertainment – and, of course, top-class equestrian sport. It really is the perfect autumn day out."

18th-19th September- Dog Fest at Cirencester Park

With activities like: the big dog walk, dogstacle races, dog hide and seek and even a canine fashion show. This is the perfect family day out for your four legged family members to enjoy. Our Guest house isn't pet friendly, but we have pet friendly holiday cottages on the same road if you were hoping to travel with your pets.

3rd September- 17th October - The Cotswolds and Beyond Art Exhibition

Joint exhibition held by Susan Carr and Peter Humphries at The Corinium Museum in Cirencester. A collection of landscapes in oil celebrating the beauty of the Cotswolds.

1st- 3rd October- Winchcombe Cotswolds Walking Festival

Lead by an experienced tour guide, join passionate walkers on a three day tour of the Cotswolds.

7th - 18th October- Cheltenham Literature Festival


Authors such as Maggie O'Farrell, Giles Terera and Richard Osman.

TV personalities such as Bimini Bon Boulash, Ed Balls and Josh Widdicombe.

Fun for all the family with Michael Morpurgo, Joe Wicks and Cressida Cowell.

Whilst in Cheltenham, pay a visit The Imperial Garden Bar at Montpellier Gardens for pizza, snacks and cocktails.

18th October- Cirencester Vegan Fair

Showcasing the best local vegan products including food, art and clothes.

12th- 14th November - The November Meeting at Cheltenham Racecourse

The magic of the season starts here with Countryside Day, Paddy Power Day and the racecourse's Family Fun Day.

13th November- The sound of Hollywood at Cheltenham Town Hall

24th November - 23rd December - Cheltenham Christmas Market

With locally made products and home made food and drink, the Christmas market is the perfect place to start your festivities.

26th November - 30th December - Sudeley Castle Spectacle of Light

In it's sixth year, Sudeley Castle presents a magical after dark experience with a light trail around the castle grounds, mulled wine and hot chocolate.

Perfect fun for the family!

26th November- 21st December- Enchanted Christmas at Westonbirt
